Proposal
A boy walks past a sidewalk sale and notices an old chess set. He buys it for a dollar and then takes it to a table at the park and sets up the pieces. He moves a chess piece and suddenly the opposing piece moves by itself. He hesitates and is confused as he starts to slowly move another one of his pieces, then the same thing happens. An entire game is played this way and he ends up losing. When the game is over, he glances down and sees a name on the side of the chess board; it's the name of a famous chess player who died many years ago. This was created using Cinema 4D, Redshift, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Media Encoder, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
Statement
Alexander learned how to play chess at a young age. When he was seven years old, he read the book Checkmate! My First Chess Book by Garry Kasparov, a Chess Grandmaster. He taught himself to play and then joined after school clubs where he could play against other kids. Eventually he played in a tournament, won a big first place trophy and realized he just liked to play for fun. He values chess as it has taught him self-confidence, how to focus, and creativity. This story stems from Alexander’s love of the game of chess and his desire to create intriguing storylines. An innocent boy unknowingly buys a box of chess pieces that once belonged to a previous Chess Grandmaster from the early 1900’s. After a magical chess game in Central Park he realizes that he just played the Grandmaster. The boy is amazed at what happened, it was like a dream come true!
